I am a Program Manager at Avalara, a global leader in cloud-based tax compliance automation. With 4 years in People & Culture and 4 years in Digital Marketing, I am passionate about connecting with my audience, and delivering value through innovative solutions and strategies.
As the program manager for People Operations, I manage the roadmap and deployment of ServiceNow, a powerful tool for knowledge management, case management, analytics, and workflow automation. I collaborate with cross-functional partners on prioritizing organizational goals and initiatives, and partner with business and project managers on process design and integration. I also hold certifications from Oxford and ServiceNow, which demonstrate my commitment to continuous learning and excellence.
In addition to my PM role at Avalara, I am also involved in ESG and Corporate Responsibility as the Co-Communications Lead on the board of the Women of Avalara Employee Resource Group. I develop key messaging and communication strategies for the ERG, and write and manage the event and activity submissions for internal and external channels. Furthermore, I continue my Social Media Marketing consulting work, where I generate and supervise content plans and campaigns for various events, such as the Creative Economy Career Day for the Seattle Office of Economics. I enjoy applying my skills and expertise in fields that I care about, and making a positive impact on my community and the planet.

People & Culture Experience
Program Manager, People & Culture Operations
Avalara
Seattle, WA
After nearly two years at Avalara, starting as a contractor and moving into a full-time team Lead role, the praise around my contributions to the Talent Acquisition team had reached the Sr. Director, People & Culture (P&C) Operations. Having a role freshly created to manage the transition of various P&C functions into a single platform, she had reached out to me directly asking me to interview for the role.

Since my transition to the People Operations team, I have done countless hours of training to become certified as an administrator in ServiceNow, worked with P&C teams and our implementation partner to transition all knowledge content onto the newly built P&C Hub in ServiceNow. My goal is to bring many more P&C functions out of their highly manual processes to scale in ServiceNow where they will have access to levels automation, reporting, and governance that they previously were not able to accomplish.

As of January 2025, I have launched on our ServiceNow instance Employee Relations and Performance Management, Talent Acquisition Operations, Benefits inquiry management, retention payment requests and automated approval routing, created a full blown knowledge management program, and will next be tackling Employee Document Management and Employee Journeys.

As an intersectional feminist, I was thrilled when board member applications opened up for Women of Avalara. The opportunity to join a group of professionals who are spearheading a culture of belonging for the women in our company was something I jumped at and was graciously accepted for. I am extremely passionate about the advancement and wellness of women in the workplace and ensuring that companies are held to a higher standard.

In partnership with my Communications Lead counterpart, we develop Employee Resource Group (ERG) key messaging and spearhead communication strategies. For larger global campaigns for events such as International Women's Day or Breast Cancer Awareness month, we partner with our executive sponsors to build out messaging that will be sent though their channels in support of our efforts.
Together, we manage the communications sent out to our members via Slack and Outlook, monitor our community to ensure our channels are used responsibly, publish monthly e-blasts in partnership with DEI and Internal Comms, and vet opportunities for external speakers to come in.
Lead Talent Acquisition Coordinator, US Region
Avalara
Seattle, WA
In July of 2021 Avalara had picked me up as a contract Recruiting Coordinator for their US team after an eight month stint at Amazon. Within six months, I made a name for myself on the team as someone who could quickly identify areas of improvement with the motivation and sense of urgency to make them happen.

During the nearly 18 months in this role, I had the opportunity to foster strong relationships with the People & Culture Executive Leadership team, attend DE&I conferences both virtually and in person while then passing on my learnings to the rest of the Talent Acquisition (TA) team, run point on projects with the goal of improving both global processes and day to day work for the TA team, and build out a dream team of US based TA Coordinators.

After a traumatizing year recovering my career after the pandemic, I couldn't have been more thankful to the TA team for recognizing my potential!

Marketing Experience
Social Media Marketing Manager
Freelance - Self Employed
Seattle, WA
After spending the post-pandemic years in the HR space I wanted to get back in touch with my creative roots, so after a connection reached out to me for guidance I began freelancing again for local event production companies in the Seattle area.
When I am brought in to promote an event, my role is to generate a social media marketing plan outlining goals, target personas, brand voice, success measurements/KPIs, and create brand templates in Canva & Cap-cut to be leveraged in content creation. Rather than executing the plan myself, I leverage interns/volunteers the event brings in while I supervise and track organic content and paid ads while boosting content that's performing well, compare results to goals, track ad performance across audiences, and revisit & adjust tactics as needed.
I love getting to work with interns to execute these campaigns because I get to impart my knowledge and experience in the industry, while also opening myself up to their fresh takes. Together, we outline organic and paid content plans to build anticipation leading up to the event, take advantage of partnerships and sponsors to spread awareness, create calls to action driving engagement and conversions, and establish authority & expertise in the industry.

Social Media Marketing Specialist
Freelance - Self Employed
Seattle, WA
When the pandemic had thrown the entire entertainment industry into a tail spin, I was faced with two options; Either sit on unemployment and wait out the market, or find a way to keep my skills sharp. I chose the latter.

I drilled down on my digital marketing skills and found that there was a larger need for people with social media marketing experience ahead of the impending online businesses boom. Through a mixture of personal referrals and online applications, I was able to build a list of five clients whom I supported at varying levels. Some needed help building their online presence from the ground up while others needed more advanced help with A/B testing paid advertisements through Meta Business Manager and Google Ads.

During this transitional time I spent as a freelance consultant, not only was I able to keep my marketing skills sharp but I learned a lot about working with wildly different personalities and handling conflicting ideas with grace.
May 2020 - December 2020
Marketing Assistant
Live Nation
Seattle, WA
Let me start by saying, working for Live Nation in my early twenties was a dream come to life. Getting paid to do something I loved so much was something I never thought would happen for me so soon in life.

After a whirlwind of a job interview at what ended up being the last Sasquatch Festival at The Gorge Amphitheater, I got to spend two years learning from some of the best promoters in the industry including one of the founders of The Gorge. Supporting the Regional Marketing Director gave me the opportunity to peek behind the curtain and see how the global touring machine worked, and I quickly found that I couldn't get enough. While performing my daily duties and responsibilities at the Seattle office and our surrounding venues, I was sure to ask questions and dig deeper into the how's and why's in hopes of working towards an executive gig at headquarters in L.A.
Even though a terrible virus had other plans for everyone around the globe, I still hope to one day make my way back into the entertainment industry that I loved so much. Until then, I happily support my entertainment industry friends on the side by helping out with events in varying capacities throughout the year.
